Preparedness Challenge: Week 30

This is your challenge for the week of July 20 through July 26.

Week 30

We are moving on to the Financial Records of our GAG Binders. To begin with, make copy of your tax returns (at least two years worth) and place those copies in your binder.

While shopping, purchase extra tomato products. This includes Salsa, juice, sauce, paste, whole, chopped, stewed, pizza, and spaghetti sauce.

Good luck!

Preparedness Challenge: Week 29

This is your challenge for the week of July 13 through July 19.

Week 29

This week, make a copy of your attorney's name and phone numbers and place the information behind the Estate Planning Section of your binder. (*If you are just joining in on the challenge, read this post about The Plan on how to set up your binder.)

Food Storage

While shopping, purchase extra baking items. For example, stock up on baking powder, baking soda, corn starch, vanilla, bouillon cubes, cooking spray, and yeast.

Good luck with the challenge. Participants, check in with me and let me know how things are going for you. We are half-way through the challenge. Are you caught up? Do you need extra encouragement?

Preparedness Challenge: Weeks 26, 27, and 28

I'm hoping you have been as busy as I have and didn't notice that I missed the last two weeks of the challenge. Sorry for the sidetrack, Ladies and Gentleman, hopefully after this Sunday I will get back on schedule. For now, here are the last three weeks of the Preparedness Challenge.

Weeks 26, 27, and 28

We are moving on in our binder to the Estate Planning section. For the combined weeks, make copies of your Wills and Trusts, your Power of Attorney papers, and your Funeral Instructions. Planning funeral instructions is something I will be doing myself. Believe me when I say that it is difficult to plan a funeral for someone when you are not sure exactly what they would have wanted. I plan to outline what I would like the funeral to be like, where I want to be buried, what I would like my headstone to look like, etc.

Food Storage

When shopping, try to purchase some extra water jugs, ready dinners (if you eat them) and canned goods.

When buying water for storage, don't forget bleach and other water purification options. I just recently learned that when you purify water with bleach, the ratio is 2 drops bleach to one gallon of water.
